Restoration Carpenter
Badger State Restoration works with customers during emergency situations such as flood, fire, mold, bio/trauma etc. Our job is to stop any further damage to their property and to repair the home or business. We are looking for reliable and positive staff to join our team. As a carpenter, you will be relied on to help with mitigation during active emergencies, demo affected areas and rebuild/repair structures. Training and further education is available to interested employees.
Typical hours are Mon- Thurs 6am-4:30pm. Occasionally Tuesday to Friday 6am-4:30 pm. Emergencies may be expected of you when the demand is there. Double time is paid for after hours emergencies.
Carpenters do a variety of different jobs, but some of their duties might include:
- Installing wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists and stud work
- Installing windows, casing, baseboard and doors.
- Installing cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall and insulation
- Adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures
- Liaising with clients, suppliers and other construction professionals
- Reading blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared by other construction professionals, architects and building code recommendations.
A successful Carpenter candidate will need a combination of qualifications and practical experience including:
- An associate degree or an apprenticeship in carpentry
- Creativity and design skills
- Experience of using hand and power tools such as drills, chisels, sanders, saws and nail guns
- Joinery or cabinet-making skills
- Knowledge of building regulations and codes to be adhered to
